Special prayers service was held at midnight in Christian churches in Coimbatore. A special return service was held at 11.30 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church in the Coimbatore Town hall area.
Coimbatore: Christians around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25 as Christmas. As part of this, special return and worship services were held in the churches in Coimbatore. Bishop Thomas Aquinas in Coimbatore offered special prayers at St. Michael the Archangel Church in the Town Hall area of Coimbatore. Then, he brought the image of the baby Jesus in his hand and carried it to depict the birth of Jesus Christ.

Baby Jesus was placed in a hut decorated to look like a manger. Many of them attended wearing new clothes. All the Christian churches in Coimbatore are decorated with colored lights on the eve of Christmas. There were also star lights hanging here and there. Due to coronavirus, special worship was held following the restrictions imposed by the government. Special prayers were offered to get rid of the Omicron virus that is threatening the world and to get rid of the infection in the future.
The participants greeted each other and had fun. They also cut the cake and presented it to the public. Mass and prayers are being held in Christian churches.
