Coimbatore SUGUNA PIP, FIITJEE Face ₹2.62 Crore Deposit Fraud Case

Peelamedu Police have registered a cheating case after parents alleged that refundable caution deposits of ₹1 lakh each collected from 262 students under a joint programme of SUGUNA PIP and FIITJEE were not returned after the stipulated period.

The Coimbatore Peelamedu Police have registered a cheating case in connection with an alleged refund dispute involving more than ₹2.62 crore collected as refundable caution security deposits from students enrolled in the integrated education programme jointly conducted by SUGUNA PIP School and FIITJEE.

According to the complaint, 262 students who joined the programme in 2023 each paid a refundable caution security deposit of ₹1 lakh, taking the total amount collected to approximately ₹2.62 crore. The complainants alleged that the deposits were not refunded even after the stipulated period had expired.

Parents further alleged that the management of SUGUNA PIP School and FIITJEE jointly collected the deposits and subsequently failed to provide a satisfactory response regarding the refund despite repeated representations.

The complainants also claimed that they had approached the police in 2024 seeking action, but alleged that no FIR was registered at the time.

Following the complaint, Peelamedu Police registered a case on May 27, 2026, against SUGUNA PIP School Correspondent Lakshmi Narayanan and FIITJEE Chairman Dinesh Kumar Goyal under Crime No. 215/2026 for the offence of cheating under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.

The investigation is being carried out by Inspector Saravanan of the Peelamedu Police Station
