Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Development Works in North and South Zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja inspected various development works including stormwater drain desilting, dengue mosquito control, and drinking water supply in North and South zone areas. The inspection covered Thudiyalur, Kurichi and other localities to ensure effective implementation of civic amenities.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS conducted a comprehensive inspection of various development works being undertaken in the North and South zones. During today's (08.08.2026) inspection, direct assessment was made regarding stormwater drainage works, dengue mosquito eradication measures, and drinking water supply projects.

The Commissioner first inspected the stormwater drain desilting works at Kurichi Silver Jubilee Street under South Zone Ward No. 85. He directly monitored the progress of these works being carried out to resolve waterlogging issues during the rainy season. Subsequently, at Kurichi Manikka Sevai Street under Ward No. 96, the Commissioner personally supervised the preventive measures being undertaken by dengue mosquito control workers and provided necessary guidance.



At Thudiyalur Valarmathi Nagar area under North Zone Ward No. 1, the Commissioner also inspected the arrangements related to drinking water supply through the overhead tank. He directly monitored whether the drinking water supply was functioning smoothly and provided necessary instructions to the officials.

During this inspection, Deputy City Engineer Ezhil, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board Executive Engineer Pattan, Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj, Assistant Executive Engineer Kanagaraj, Councilor Gunasekaran, Zonal Health Officer Andiappan, Assistant Engineers Jayinraj and Indira Gandhi, Health Inspector Balamurugan, and several other corporation officials were present.

The Commissioner is ensuring effective implementation of various development works of Coimbatore Corporation through direct inspections. Such inspections are expected to continue with the aim of providing better facilities to the citizens.
