The Covid-19 16th mega vaccination drive will be held on 26.12.2021 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at 145 centers in Coimbatore Corporation area as per the order of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner requested all who are eligible to be vaccinated against coronavirus. The Covid-19 16th mega vaccination drive will be held on 26.12.2021 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm at 145 centers in Coimbatore Corporation area as per the order of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
According to the Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, public from over 94% of the Coimbatore Corporation areas are vaccinated with the first dose. In Coimbatore Corporation areas, 1,15,000 people over the age of 18 have not been vaccinated with the first dose. Therefore, 2,57,774 persons are eligible to be vaccinated at the 16th mega covid vaccination drive. (Those who have completed 84 daysafter the first dose of Covishield and those who have completed 28 days of receiving the Covaxin). The infection is prevented from becoming serious in those who have got 2 doses of the vaccine and it provides almost 100% protection.
In addition, the Department of Public Health has announced that only those who have not completed the first dose or the second dose of the vaccine and those waiting for the second dose of the vaccine will be allowed in public places, such as theatres, malls and public places.
The corporation commissioner said a new type of transmitted coronavirus called Omicron is believed to have originated from South Africa is highly virulent and is rapidly spreading. Therefore, travellers from abroad are advised to check in at the airport and isolate their home for 14 days. According to the Directorate of Public Health, 95 percent of deaths in the last three months are due to non-vaccination. Therefore, all those who have not been vaccinated with the first dose and those who are eligible for the second dose of vaccination should attend the drive to protect themselves completely from this virus.
