Judge Suganthi sentenced the girl's father Chandran to 14 years imprisonment under the POSCO and another 2 years imprisonment for attempted murder and a fine of Rs.25,000.
Tirupur: Tirupur court has sentenced a brutal father to 16 years in jail and fined him Rs 25,000 for sexually harassing his 16-year-old daughter.
A 16-year-old girl from Avinashi Road area of Tirupur was beaten and sexually abused by her father Chandran (39) on 24-11-2020.
The girl's mother lodged a complaint at the Avinashi All Women Police Station. The father was prosecuted and arrested by police under the POCSO. The case was heard in the Tirupur District Women's Court. It was at this point that the case came to trial.
