Coimbatore: The Coimbatore State Corporation Official has stated that a compliant book will be placed in the government buses in Coimbatore in the near future.

Officials said a complaint book will be placed in Coimbatore government buses soon as per the draft notification order to amend the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules.

The Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Tamil Nadu, S Prabhakar issued a statement that “A draft notification order will be issued amending the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules. The validity period of this draft order is 30 days. The Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department can be informed about the amendments, opinions or objections to the draft before the amendments are issued.”

Further, he added that, according to the draft amendment, in the absence of conductors in government buses, the drivers of the bus will be placed in charge. If a male passenger on the bus engages in obscene activities, including taking photos or videos of women, the conductor shall immediately drop him off the bus or hand him over to a nearby police station.

Any passenger who misbehaves with women can be raised from his seat and taken away for questioning. A complaint book has to be placed on the bus for the passengers so that they can express their opinion. The book should be given to police officers or traffic officers whenever asked.

Commenting on the implementation of the new order, a Coimbatore State Transport Corporation official said, "Complaint books will be placed in government buses in the division. Passengers can express their opinions on various issues. Action will be taken on that."
