Coronavirus outpatient treatment center functioning at Coimbatore Government Arts College shifted to Government Hospital

Dean Government Hospital A. Nimala said, at present the number of patients visiting the outpatient department has come down to less than 10. The outpatient department has been shifted back to the hospital due to the low number of patients.


Coimbatore: The Coronavirus Outpatient Department, which was functioning at the Coimbatore Government Arts College campus, has been shifted back to the Government Hospital. In Coimbatore, the number of people visiting the government hospital for treatment increased due to the increase in the number of infected people during the 2nd wave of coronavirus. Thus, the Coronavirus Outpatient Department, which used to function at the Government Hospital, was shifted to the Government College near the Coronavirus Examination Centers.

In addition, a government coronavirus treatment center was established. The Coronavirus treatment center was closed when live classes began at the college. The outpatient department continued to function. The outpatient department which was functioning in the Government College has been shifted back to the Government Hospital.

In this connection, the Dean Government Hospital A. Nimala said, at present the number of patients visiting the outpatient department has come down to less than 10. For this a separate medical committee was appointed there. The outpatient department has been shifted back to the hospital due to the low number of patients and for the welfare of the students. No structure was removed and it is only temporarily closed. These centers will be utilized when the impact of Omicron spikes.
