Coimbatore: The former AIADMK Minister S P Velumani slammed the DMK regime with regard to the footwear-throwing incident aimed at MLA Pollachi Jayaraman at an event. Condemning the incident, former Minister S P Velumani said, "I strongly condemn the DMK's murderous attack on former Deputy Speaker Pollachi V Jayaraman in Kothawadi village under Kinathukadavu taluk.
I urge the Government to immediately arrest and punish those who assaulted him while he was participating in the Pongal celebrations organized by the public at the Gothawadi which was rehabilitated by civil works during the AIADMK regime. The law and order situation in the DMK regime is such that even an MLA has no protection. The Chief Minister should ensure that law and order is maintained and instruct his party members to exercise restraint," he reiterated.
