The man reportedly parked his bike being dizzy and was leaning against a wall near the bridge when he suddenly stumbled and fell into the pond and drowned.
Coimbatore: Godwin (29) from Meenakshiamman Nagar in Ondipudur, Coimbatore worked for a private food delivery company. His wife is Velankanni Betsy Catherine (27) who works in a private company. Godwin is reported to have been suffering from a respiratory problem since childhood and was being treated.
While riding on his bike with his wife near the Ukkadam Valankulam road railway bridge on Sunday night, Godwin is said to have felt dizzy. He reportedly parked the bike and was leaning against a wall near the bridge, when he suddenly stumbled and fell into the pond and drowned. Godwin's wife shouted for help and passers-by rushed to rescue him and lifted him out of the water.
Godwin was then rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. But doctors who examined him stated that he had been brought dead. The Race Course police have registered a case in this regard and are conducting an investigation.
