ICSI Coimbatore Chapter to get state-of-the-art office at Kalapatti. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India President, C.S. Nagendra D Rao, makes the announcement.
Coimbatore: In a press release issued by the ICSI Coimbatore Chapter, it was stated that the Institute of Company secretaries of India (ICSI) is premier educational Institution imparting the Company Secretary education and fostering the profession of Company Secretary.
The ICSI is established by a special enactment passed in the parliament in the year 1980. The ICSI is under the administrative control of the Ministry of corporate affairs of the Central Government. The ICSI has four regional councils situated at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta and Chennai. It also has 72 chapters (Branches) situated all over India. Through these chapters the ICSI is imparting the Company Secretary education. In Coimbatore also we have a Chapter. ICSI Coimbatore has entered into a MoU with Bharathiar University and provides the CS education in association with the university.
Hitherto the Coimbatore Chapter was functioning in a rented building at Ram Nagar. Now it is proposed to construct its own building for the Chapter. Accordingly about 22 cents of land was purchased and with due approvals of LPA and the Coimbatore Corporation and today the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the building.
“Construction of the New Office Premises of the ICSI Coimbatore Chapter has commenced from 19th December, 2021 onwards. The Company Secretaries students from the four districts which comes under the jurisdiction of ICSI Coimbatore Chapter ie. Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Nilgiris districts utilize the facilities of the new building.
Company Secretaries students are pursuing CS course from the four districts through Distance Learning and Class Room Teaching. This building consists of stilt plus three floors including reception, office, library cum meeting rooms, class rooms and multipurpose conference hall with the built up area of 10,000-Sq.Ft. He further said that the building project is expected to be completed before end of the year 2022. The proposed building project is commencing near Chitra, S.F.No. 542/1, Kalappati Village, Coimbatore.” said Mr. CS Nagendra D Rao, President, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
He added the premises will be useful for about 3,000 students pursuing CS course in and around Coimbatore. We expect that the building will be completed within nine months. M/s Sundar and Sundaram are the Architects for the project.M/s. Haven Infra projects and Powers Limited, Chennai was awarded the contract for construction by a tender process.
The ICSI Coimbatore, extends its sincere thanks to R Vazhavanthan member Secretary and deputy Director Directorate of Town and Country Planning, Coimbatore and Rajagopal Sankara commissioner and Dr. M Sharmila Deputy Commissioner of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation for their approval and licence for construction of the said building, the institute stated in a press release.
