Komangalam police arrest three persons and seize 1,308-gelatin explosives illegally stored without permission at a farm near Nattukkalpalayam near Pollachi.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Selvanagarathinam received a tip-off that explosives including gelatine were stored in agricultural farms in the Nattukkalpalayam-Palaiyur area near Pollachi. Following this, on his orders, the Komangalam police led by Pollachi Superintendent of Police Tamilmani raided Vijaybabu's farm in the Palaiyur area.

Gelatin explosives were found in cardboard boxes in the motor room. Police subsequently seized 1,308-gelatine explosives. Three people, including Vijaybabu, Ponnusamy, Kanagaraj, from Kanjampatti were arrested. The first phase of the investigation revealed that the explosives were stored in the open in a manner that could endanger human life and were kept for use in stone quarries without proper documentation. All three arrested were produced in court and remanded in custody.
