Teenager student injured in bear attack is undergoing treatment at the Valparai GH. Public demands that the Valparai Forest Department and Police provides them protection from wildlife.
Coimbatore: Wildlife movement is on the rise in the estates surrounding Valparai in Coimbatore district. Rahul, a 16-year-old son of Vijayalakshmi, who lives at Sholayar Estate area near Valparai is a Class 12 student at Valparai Boy's High School.
The teenager came out of the house at around 10.30 last night to urinate. A bear in a thorn bush suddenly attacked Rahul and bit him on the leg. On hearing his screams for help, his family members and locals came rushing after which the bear left the place. Rahul was later rescued by the public and taken to the Valparai Government Hospital for treatment for his injuries which he sustained in the attack. The bear's teeth sinked in and injured his leg.
