The forest areas around Chinna Hubbathalai in the Nilgiris district are inhabited by various wild animals including bison, bears, and leopards, which occasionally trespass into the residential area for food and water.
A resident was terrified witnessing a bear near his house as he opened the doors upon hearing strange noises. He was much shocked to see another bear join this one and rushed out from his house to save himself from an animal attack. The bears were seen strolling for over an hour leaving the residents in panic.
The natives in the area have requested the forest department to cage the bears and release them into the dense forest area before any untoward incident takes place.
