The incident of three students killed in school wall collapse in Tirunelveli startled the state and as a precautionary method, 1,386 schools in Coimbatore are inspected by the Chief Education Officer (CEO).
The Government of Tamil Nadu has ordered an inspection of schools in all districts following the collapse. Geetha, Chief Education Officer, Coimbatore District, said, “We have already reviewed the classrooms and space facilities of schools in Coimbatore. Coimbatore district has a total of 2,065 schools. Out of this, 1,386 Government Schools and Government Aided Schools are being inspected. We have also ordered submission of photographs of all the buildings of the respective school.”
