Tirupur: The bank employees have boycotted work for the second day condemning the center’s move to privatize government and public sector banks in India. CITU members joined the agitators in Tirupur on the second day.
The bank workers, on behalf of the Union Forum of Banks, are on a nationwide strike against the central government’s declaration of privatizing government banks. The bank employees are staging a two-day protest on 16th and 17th December 2021. Protests are underway.

On the second day of protest, the employees gathered in front of the State Bank of India at Uthukuli Road.

CITU trade unions also joined them in support.

The second day of the bank employees’ agitation has affected financial transactions to the value of up to ₹ 1.5-crore in Tirupur.
