Bank employees have boycotted work for the second day in the city condemning the Centre’s move to privatize public sector banks in India.
Coimbatore: Even as bank employees began the two-day nationwide strike on Thursday against the Central Government’s move to privatize public sector banks, bank employees in Coimbatore continued to boycott work for the second day in the city.
The first-day demonstration was held at the Bank of Baroda opposite the railway station, while the second day's demonstration was underway at the State Bank of India, near the railway station. More than 200 members participated in the two-day strike and raised slogans against the Central Government's decision to privatize banks.
