The State Government’s orders to intensify surveillance at international airports has strengthened vigil in Coimbatore due to Omicron concerns, with e-pass made mandatory along with 14 days self-isolation for international passengers.
Coimbatore: Surveillance has been intensified at the Coimbatore International Airport due to rising concerns of Omicron.
With the growing concerns of a more potentially contagious variant of Covid-19, the Omicron, the Tamil Nadu Government has directed to intensify containment measures at international airports in the state. Accordingly, international passengers arriving at Coimbatore Airport are being strictly monitored.
Online registration is mandatory for air passengers from other states to Tamil Nadu, and vaccination certificates of both doses for passengers from Kerala have been made compulsory.
Passengers flying in from other states are to be isolated in the event of showing symptoms. New restrictions have been imposed at airports including Chennai and Coimbatore and other state passengers are advised to self-quarantine themselves for 14 days at their homes if symptomatic.
