Corporation Commissioner inspects classroom construction in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore, the Corporation Commissioner inspected the construction of new classroom buildings at an estimated cost of Rs.52-lakhs under the Namaku Naam project.


Coimbatore: Under the scheme Namaku Naam a grant of Rs.52-lakh was provided to build classroom building. Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the site where the new classroom buildings will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.52-lakhs.



Coimbatore Corporation East Zone Ward No. 57 Masakalipalayam Corporation Middle School is being renovated and the Commissioner inspected the construction site of additional classroom buildings at an estimated cost of Rs.52-lakhs. Propel Industries contributed Rs.26-lakhs with 50% of the amount contributed by the Government of Tamil Nadu for a total of Rs.52-lakhs. The Corporation Commissioner visited and selected the site for the construction of additional classrooms and toilet buildings at an estimated cost of Rs.52-lakhs.



He then ordered the immediate completion of the 600-meter-long underground sewer on the Co-operative Colony Main Road under Ward 64 and the installation of drinking water pipes under the 24x7 drinking water project. Later, he visited and inspected the Rs.61-lakh project of tar road laying (480 m wide by 9.30 m wide) under the Tamil Nadu Urban Road Infrastructure Project (TURIP) on the Perks School Road.

He instructed the engineers to complete the dilapidated road works with quality and bring them into public use. He then inspected the renovated classroom buildings of Uppilipalayam Corporation Middle School at a cost of Rs.15.40-lakh. Subsequently, the Corporation Commissioner inspected the Public Complaints Center and the Corporation Taxation Center and the newly set up 24x7 drinking water project near the overhead reservoir in the Varadharajapuram area.

East Zone Assistant Engineer Sundarajan, Assistant Engineers Ezhil, Sathya, Saranya, Ravi, Zonal Health Officer Muruga and Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
