Tirupur: A resident in Tirupur Pooluvapatti rescued a rare breed of star tortoise strolling on the road and handed it over to the forest department.
Sivanandam, a resident of Palanisamy Nagar in Pooluvapatti owns a knitwear company in the district.

Sivanandam found a baby tortoise on the road near Pooluvapatti on his way back home and immediately rescued the reptile.

Sivanandam took the reptile home, fed it, and subsequently informed the forest department of the discovery. The turtle was handed over to the Tirupur forest department worker Sivamani who arrived at Sivanandam’s house and examined it.
An investigation is being carried out to ascertain the reason for the discovery.
