Pollachi: The Pollachi sub-court judge, Balamurugan sentenced the murder attempt accused to 6-years in prison and a penalty of ₹.2,000.
Utthiraraj, 41, of Anaimalai runs a finance corporation in the same area. Reportedly Utthiraj had occasional tiffs with Jayakumar of the same region. Jayakumar helped in getting a loan for Xavior of Thathoor, which was not repaid properly.
Utthiraraj abused Jayakumar and allegedly attacked the latter and his friend Senthil Kumar with a sickle. Following a complaint was lodged with the Anaimalai police station, the cops arrested Utthiraraj on attempt to murder charge and the trial was held at the Pollachi sub-court.
Justice Balamurugan sentenced the accused to 6-years in prison and a fine of ₹.2,000 was imposed.Devasenapathi appeared on the prosecution’s side.
