Pollachi: The Municipal officers of Pollachi imposed fine of ₹.20,000 on a private textile shop in Pollachi for luring mass crowd with offers celebrating their 100th day of existence on Monday.
A private textile shop in Pollachi Bazaar announced attractive offers and lured a huge crowd into the shop was imposed a fine on Monday. The public thronged at the shop as sarees were sold for ₹.50 while dhotis for ₹.10.
Municipal health inspectors, Dharmaraj and Senthil Kumar inspected the shop upon the orders of Municipal Commissioner, Thanu Murthy. The inspectors imposed a fine of ₹.20,000 on the shop for violating the prescribed Covid-19 norms.
They subsequently warned that strict action will be taken against commercial establishments for violating the disease control rules in Pollachi, as the cases seem to spike in recent days.
