A real estate owner based in Coimbatore was robbed of Rs.5 lakh by his employee who was sent to withdraw the money.
Coimbatore: A real estate owner based in Coimbatore was robbed of Rs.5 lakh by his employee whom he had sent to withdraw money from the bank.
Manoj Kumar (40) lodged a complaint with the Podanur police station stating his employee had robbed him off of Rs. 5 lakh which the former had asked to withdraw from the bank. Manoj Kumar, son ofEswaran of Vellalur Road next to Podanur runs a real estate company in the same area. Muthu alias Muthupandi, a native of Pondicherry was employed by Manoj for the past two years and had been taking care of office and bank related work.
Manoj as usual sent Muthu to withdraw cash from the bank using a Rs.5 lakh cheque but was surprised when the latter never returned. Muthu reportedly withdrew the cash from the Bank of India in Vellalur area and absconded with Rs. 5 lakhs.
Even after searching intensively for Muthu, Manoj became suspicious and hence filed a complaint with the Podanur Police. The police have registered a case under section 406, 420 IPC and are investigating.
