Ahead of the urban local body elections, CCMC Commissioner on Thursday released the electoral list of the 100 wards. As per the list, a total of 1290 booths have been identified across 100 wards in the city.
Coimbatore: Ahead of the urban local body elections, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) on Thursday released the electoral list of the 100 wards. As per the list, a total of 1290 booths have been identified across 100 wards in the city.
Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara released the voters' list in the presence of representatives from various political parties.
Following the delimitation excercise, an electoral culminating all 100 wards with photographs of the voters were prepared in the year 2018. Further, an electoral roll was released on November 1, 2021 during the assembly constituencies - 117 Koundampalayam, 118 Coimbatore North, 119 Thondamuttur, 120 Coimbatore South, 121 Singanallur and 122 Kinathukadavu, respectively.
Taking into account of both the earlier rolls, after additions of names and deletions, the CCMC has prepared the electoral list for the upcoming urban local body elections.
Accordingly, polling booths have been set up in the 100 wards in Coimbatore Corporation with 1290 polling stations and 287 polling booths. "Out of the total 15,38,411 voters, 7,69,397 are male voters, 7,68,736 are female voters and 278 third gender voters in 100 wards," informed the Corporation Commissioner.
