Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Minister of Information and Publicity, M P Saminathan has stated that the Individual Commission will take action on regulating online media.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin inaugurated the Joint Water Supply Scheme for 155 rural habitations belonging to Annur, Moopperipalayam Town Panchayats, Sulur Air Force Base, Avinashi Town Panchayat, Palladam and Tirupur Panchayat Unions in Coimbatore from the Secretariat in Chennai through video conferencing.
The Tamil Nadu Information and Public Relations Minister, M P Saminathan and the Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran participated from the Coimbatore Collectorate and launched these projects at a cost of Rs.241 crore for public use today.
M P Saminathan who later met the press stated, “Action will be taken when there are written complaints about press outlets that do not pay journalists despite receiving RNI. The Press Welfare Board has been constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu and members have been appointed. The Welfare Board will be fully operational soon. The Individual Commission will take action on regulating online media.”
“A joint water supply scheme was launched today for the people of Coimbatore and Tirupur at an outlay of ₹.241 crores, which will benefit 4.20 lakh people who depend on the scheme until 2035. Water has been supplied to the public from the Bhavani river under the 241 crore estimated scheme," he added.
