Forest officials evacuated tourists from the Aliyar waterfall area as there was heavy flow of water while tourists were bathing.

Shortly after the evacuation, there was a sudden flood in the waterfall area. According to the Forest Department, the waterfall has been flooded due to continuous heavy rains in Coimbatore district. Officials stated that the ban on bathing in the falls was for the safety of tourists.
