Due to intensive patrols by the forest department, the number of wild animals has increased significantly. As a result, animals have begun vist residential areas in search of food and water. Due to this, human-wildlife conflicts are taking place. This causes a lot of casualties and material damage. A Human Wildlife Conflict Prevention Committee has been formed and intensive patrols are being carried out.

Awareness is also created by distributing leaflets to prevent human-wildlife conflict among the public in Valparai town and tea plantation areas as per the orders of Anaimalai Tiger Reserve Deputy Director Arokkiyaraj Xavier.

Led by Forester Muniyandi, forest department personnel distributed leaflets to the people and provided mobile contact numbers to inform the forest department when they come across wild animals. A large number of the public participated in the event.
