Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects North Zone Drainage Cleaning Work Ahead of Monsoon Season

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja inspected ongoing stormwater drainage cleaning work in North Zone areas including Sriram Nagar and Mullai Nagar as precautionary measures ahead of the monsoon season to prevent waterlogging issues.


Coimbatore: As a precautionary measure to face the upcoming monsoon season, intensive stormwater drainage cleaning work is underway in the North Zone areas of Coimbatore Corporation. In this context, Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja personally inspected the work and conducted a review today (21.08.2025).



The Commissioner conducted an inspection in Ward No. 26 of the North Zone, covering areas including Sriram Nagar, Mullai Nagar, and Narayanasamy Layout near the railway track. He ensured that the drainage systems were being properly cleaned to facilitate smooth flow of rainwater.

During the visit, Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja personally observed the ongoing canal cleaning work in the area and instructed the concerned officials to complete the work expeditiously. He emphasized that all drainage work must be completed before the monsoon season begins.

The inspection was attended by Assistant Commissioner Mohanasundari, Executive Engineer Devadas, Assistant Executive Engineer Sathyamoorthy (Public Works), Councilor Chithra Velliyangiri, Zonal Health Officer Murugan, Assistant Engineer Kumar, and several other Corporation officials.

It is noteworthy that these precautionary measures are being undertaken in the North Zone areas to prevent waterlogging problems during the rainy season.
