The Nilgiris: A police team met the public at their own location near Coonoor to collect grievance petitions.
A grievance redressal camp on behalf of Wellington Police was held on Friday under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh in the village of Jegathala near Coonoor.
In the Nilgiris district, District Superintendent of Police Sasimohan last week ordered police to go directly to the public and take action to resolve their grievances, following which a team comprising Coonoor Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh, Wellington Police Inspector Philip and other cops went to Jegathala village near Aruvankadu to hear the public's grievances.

Villagers filed six petitions including the ones about intensifying patrols in their area in order to prevent crimes and petitions money matters. Three of those petitions were resolved immediately.

Coonoor DSP Suresh said that the public can come to the police station at any time and voice their grievances. In cases where it is not possible to do, such camps are being held from time to time, he added. He also urged the public to make use of such camps.
