Coimbatore: In the Gandhiya Makkal Yatra held by Congress, cadres dressed up as leaders.
The Gandhiya Makkal Yatra started on the 18th on behalf of the Coimbatore District Congress to promote Gandhian thoughts amid the masses. It was held for the past few days at every ward in Coimbatore Corporation and featured programs such as songs and speeches to spread Gandhian thoughts.

The General Secretary of the All India Congress Party and In-charge of the Tamil Nadu Congress Party Sanjay Dutt started the yatra, which started from the Theppakulam ground at the 25th Ward.

In the procession, cadres disguised themselves as national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Bharatiyar.

Led by Mayura Jayakumar, State Working President of the Tamil Nadu Congress Party, leaflets printed with Gandhian ideas were distributed during the procession and patriotic songs were sung.
