Coimbatore: Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology (KIT) defeated Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) in the finals to emerge champions of the Anna University Zone IX kabaddi tournament organised by KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, in the city outskirts, on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology (KIT) defeated Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) in the finals to emerge champions of the Anna University Zone IX kabaddi tournament organised by KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, in the city outskirts, on Wednesday.
In the final fight between KIT and SIET for the trophy, KIT players were aggressive and manoeuvred skillfully throughout the match to tire out SIET (40-19) with ease. Similarly Tamil Nadu Engineering College beat Dr. NGP Institute of Technology in a close contest for the third place (45-42). Around 16 engineering colleges who are in the Zone IX actively participated in this regional sport.
Dr. Bommannaraja, Principal of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology presented the trophy to the winners who will be eligible to take part in the inter-zonal tournament which is to be held later this year.
