Coimbatore : S Prajwal Dev of Karnataka has won the Rotary Sharp AITA tennis tournament held at KG Ramesh Tennis Academy on Saturday.
Coimbatore : S Prajwal Dev of Karnataka has won the Rotary Sharp AITA tennis tournament held at KG Ramesh Tennis Academy on Saturday.
In a most expected match between top two seeded players in the finals, the luck favoured Prajwal Dev as the top seed Ishaque Eqbal conceded the match due to an abdomen injury. Ishaque was suffering abdomen injury from the start of the game which ended as an advantage to the opponent. The match was conceded in the second set when the scores were (6-0, 1-0) and this made Prajwal Dev emerge as champion in men's Category.

Likewise in women's category, Rishika Sunkara of Delhi defeated her state-mate Shwetha Rana to conquer the women's trophy. Though Shwetha Rana was on top after the first game as she led by 6-2, the victor pounced into the competition by taking the set 6-3. In the decider it was Rishika Sunkara dominated the opponent and sealed the match by 6-3 to emerge champion.

K.R. Pandian, Owner of Sharp Tools presented the cash prize and trophies for the winners of the tournament. Total cash prize worth Rs 2.5 lakh were awarded to the winner
