Tirupur: The dmk youth wing's environmental wing sports development team organised a marathon at Thungaviin Madathukulam assembly constituency near Udumalpet in Tirupur district.
The marathon was held as part of udhayanidhi Stalin's birthday celebrations to create awareness about traffic safety, environment protection and drug prevention.
Former Madathukulam MLA Jayaramakrishnan flagged off the marathon by waving the flag at Azhagu Nachiamman Temple in Karatholuvu.
More than 100 students participated in the marathon, which ran for a distance of about three kilometres.
Prizes and certificates were presented to the winners. Also, special prizes were awarded to all those who participated in the competition.
Pollachi MP Shanmugasundaram, Madathukulam West Union Secretary Eswarasamy, Madathukulam East Union Treasurer M.A. Sakul Ameed and others were present on the occasion.
