MLAs, MPs, Mayor and others participated in the awareness marathon held at Vengamedu area to emphasize on drug eradication.
Tirupur: An awareness marathon on drug prevention was held at Vengamedu in Tirupur district.
The marathon was inaugurated by legislators Vijayakumar and Anandan, Tirupur MP Subbarayan and Tirupur Mayor Dinesh Kumar.
The marathon was held in four categories, covering a distance of 3 km for the under-18 and those above the age of 40.
Similarly, more than 1,000 participants including men, women, boys and girls participated in the marathon, which was held in four categories – 5 km and 10 km category.
Finally, medals and certificates were awarded to all participants in the competition.
