Balamurali Krishna, a Silambam exponent, who is undergoing training at the Mullai Institute of Martial Arts in “Silambam†has set a world record by playing the sport for 20 hours and 23 minutes.
Coimbatore: The Mullai Institute of Martial Artsand Sports Academy in Chinnavedampatti and Cheran managar area of Coimbatore has been training young people, from the age of five years in varioustraditional martial arts of Tamil Nadu including. Silambam, Adimuram, Velkambu, Valari, Mankombu.

Eleven- year- old BalamuraliKrishna, who is the son of Karthik Kumar and Saranya Devi of Chinnavedampatti, who is undergoing training here has set a world record by playing silambam for 20 hours and 23 minutes continuously.

By his rare feat, the young Balamurali Krishan has entered three world record books including India World Record Book, American World Record Book and European World Record Book.
The boy was presented with a certificate by India Book of World Records by its Coimbatore district president Prakashraj.

He also received a shield for his feat.
The event was attended by a large number of people including assistant coaches, students of Mullai Martial Arts and Sports Academy, parents and others.
It is to be noted that many students trained at Mullai Martial Arts and Training Institute have been setting world records in the past too.
