Coimbatore: Cricket match was held at Kumaraguru College Grounds in Coimbatore to raise funds to improve the infrastructure of government schools.
The Coimbatore United Round Table hosted a one-day inter-corporate cricket match at the Kumaraguru College Grounds in Coimbatore for the upliftment of the ailing schools. The competition for this United Cup took place as a one-on-one introductory event between companies and the employees who work in it. This is the 10th year that 16 teams have participated in the tournament. The semifinals and finals took place in a flood light.
This year NMS Global and Steps Sourcing played in the final. Steps Sourcing won the United trophy. The entire proceeds from the competition were used for the construction of dilapidated government school buildings. The cricket tournament was inaugurated by Tharani Ranganathan, Managing Director, Tharani Pumps. Round table President Balachandran. Secretary Varun Barek, Coordinator Jairam Thimmayan, Vignesh and Ashwat were present.
For the last 15 years Coimbatore United Round Table 186 has been helping poor children through various programs. It has been implementing various programs for freedom through education. It has built more than 35 classrooms in Coimbatore and 1500 students have benefited from it. In addition, over the past few years it has provided more than 800 prosthetic arms and legs free of charge to those in need and has provided safety equipment to various government hospitals during COVID-19.
