Felicitation ceremony for the gold medalists of the World Weightlifting Championships

Coimbatore: A felicitation ceremony for the gold medalists of World Weightlifting Championships was held yesterday. An appreciation ceremony was held on behalf of the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi for the youth of Coimbatore who participated in the international level weightlifting competition and won 6 medals. World Weightlifting Championships were held in Nagpur on the 4th on behalf of the World Weightlifting Federation. It was attended by players from different countries. Sajid Hussain and Richardson, two young men from Coimbatore, had the opportunity to participate in these competitions.



Richardson participated in the Junior 100 kg weight category and won 3 gold medals. In this, he broke the previous world record by lifting 290 kg in the deadlift competition. Similarly, Sajid Hussain participated in a bench press competition and won one gold and two silver medals. An appreciation ceremony was held on behalf of the Youth Wing of the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi in appreciation of the winners. The two youths were honored with gold medals and presented with souvenirs and financial assistance.

The event was presided over by Maideen, District Secretary, Makkal Manithaneya Katchi Youth Wing Ahmed Kabir, District Secretary Gem Babu, District Deputy Chairman Sirajuddin, District Treasurer Abbas, District Deputy Secretary Basheer, TMMK District Deputy Secretary Ashik Ahmed, Medical Team District Secretary Ashiq, Central Area Chairman Ibrahim, Central Area Secretary Riyaz, Central Secretary Abu, District Executive Committee Member Fiaz, Medical Team Treasurer Faisal, Southern Region Ibrahim, were also present.
