Coimbatore : Over 170 tennis players enthusiastically participated in the state level non-ranking tennis tournament 'SportIndia Tennis League' at the Levo Sports Complex here in the city, on Sunday.
The state level tennis tournament was organised by the Levo Sports Complex in the outskirts of the city in which more than 170 athletes from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Pollachi, Salem, Chennai, Coonoor, Erode and Karur vied for the trophy.
The tournament was conducted under various age categories for both singles and doubles. In the Under-10 category, Sarvesh lifted the title by defeating Srivatson by 6-2 in the finals while in the Under-12 category, Rohith Hari ran through Dharun Sabari in the finals by 6-1 to claim the trophy.
Kowtham Mohan emerged as champion in both the under 14 and 16 age category by defeating Balasurya (6-1) and Shanjay Shah (6-2) respectively.
In the men's singles finals, Nithin Ram emerged victorious while the duo of Gowtham-Vimal claimed the trophy by defeating Nithin Ram and Ramesh by 8-3 in the finals.
