There are over a thousand ration cardholders in the Angeripalayam fair price shop under the Chettipalayam Primary Agricultural Society in Tirupur district.

In this case, the family cardholders who went to buy the essentials at the fair price shop were refused by the staff and were allegedly forced to come and buy the required items at the end of the month due to the lack of current stock.

Naam Tamilar Katchi staged a protest right outside the Angeripalayam fair price shop under the Chettipalayam Primary Agricultural Society in Tirupur district demanding a proper investigation by the authorities to curb such malpractices taking place in fair price shops throughout the state

According to them, the ration cardholders who did not buy the goods at the Angeripalayam fair price shop under the Chettipalayam Primary Agricultural Society in Tirupur district received a text message saying that the goods were purchased without purchase ever actually taking place. People are accusing the officials of speaking in a threatening tone without responding properly when asked about it.

Therefore, they demanded that all the records including the Family Card and all sales records allotted to the shop be inspected and appropriate action be taken to ensure that this situation never repeats itself.

In addition, the Naam Tamilar Katchi's anti-corruption Wing, which was involved in the protest, demanded that immediate action be taken against the ration shop employee in question and that the government employee be replaced.
