Pongal celebrations at Sree Jayaendra Saraswathi educational institutions


We are heading towards a long holiday weekend and the bonus is Pongal finds its way back into the Indian government’s list of official holidays. This festival of harvest, to thank the Gods was celebrated with much fanfare at the Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Educational Institutions, today.



The entire campus was transformed into a riot of colours as students were dressed in their best traditional attire. As a part of the celebrations, traditional pongal was cooked and served. At this campus, stalls were put up to display the culture of our region. One of the stalls sold traditional delicacies of the kongu cuisine while another stall had on display and for sale traditional accessories that will please any woman.



Secretary of this educational institutions Dhanalakshmi Jayachandran preside over the celebrations. Principal of the college Premalatha, Tamil department head and organiser of the celebrations Balu,  Professor Vinayakamoorthy, teachers and students participated in the celebrations.
