Police are investigating a case in which a policeman was killed when a bus collided with his two-wheeler in Coimbatore. The doctors who examined him at the GH confirmed that he is dead.

Ganesan (45) was a policeman at the Peelamedu police station in Coimbatore. He was on his two-wheeler last night, heading towards Sitra from Kalapatti. As he approached Sitra, a private bus travelling from Coimbatore to Chennai on Avinashi Road collided with Ganesan's two-wheeler. He was seriously injured.
When he was thrown from his two-wheeler, he fainted on the spot. Following this, the public gathered there, rescued him and sent him to a nearby private hospital. There, Ganesan was given first aid and later shifted to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment. The doctors who examined him there confirmed that he had died.
Coimbatore East Traffic Investigation Division registered a case and is investigating the incident.
