Coimbatore: The city police have arrested a few residents in the city for attacking a sanitary worker this morning while she was on her duty.
A woman employee, Jyotiammal, who was working in ward 80 engaged in cleanliness work in Coimbatore Rangegounder Street this morning, was attacked by some locals there. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
She is currently being treated at Coimbatore government hospital. It has been demanded that the Coimbatore corporation administration should ensure the safety of cleanliness workers.
