The local police forcibly arrested over 20 members in the city for creating a fuss in front of a school where the Shakha Training was in progress, on behalf of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday morning.
Various quarters have been raising voices against the RSS conducting the Shakha training in educational institutions in Coimbatore. The members of all parties including the Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam condemned the training which was underway at Sri Dharmasastha Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vilankurichi Road.
The police on guard forcibly arrested those who attempted to protest, triggering an uproar in the area as they raised slogans condemning it.
