A youth who attempted to marry a girl near Pollachi is arrested under the POCSO Act.
Coimbatore: A 16-year-old girl studying in class 11 from a village near Pollachi was reported missing by her parents at the Pollachi East police station on the 26th. Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation.
It is learned that Sandeep Kumar (23), a driver from Aathu Pollachi village near Pollachi, took the 16-year-old girl to Salem to marry her.
Following this, the police tracked down the girl in Salem and rescued her. Also, the East police arrested Sandeep Kumar who attempted to marry the girl and handed over the case to the Women's Police Station. Following this, Sandeep Kumar, who took the girl to marry, was prosecuted under the POCSO Act and imprisoned.
