The number of people suffering from dengue fever has been increasing in the last few days and regrettably the fever is spreading faster in children than in adults.

Health care workers are engaged in various preventive measures, but the number of cases is on the rise. More than 20 people visit the GH in Coimbatore every day to be treated for fever. At present, 28 people, 15 children and 13 adults, are being treated for dengue fever in the GH here.

A health official said, "People can prevent the spread of dengue by making sure that there is no water logging around their homes. A special ward has been set up in the hospital and there is no danger for anyone.”
