These flowers are found in areas with tea plantations in the hilly region, and was brought up as a decorative plant during the British era while they set up a tea plantation. The flowers are more commonly witnessed in forest areas in comparison to homes.
Christians report that these flowers bloom in December as a sign of the infant Christ's birth and these flowers bloom and shed off at the end of December.
