The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s flagship 'Innuyir Kappom Scheme' has been implemented across 67 hospitals in the city, with accident victims within TN borders to benefit from the first 48-hour free treatment through the scheme.
Coimbatore: A total of 67 hospitals in Coimbatore have been equipped with implementing the ‘Innuyir Kappom’ Scheme of Tamil Nadu Government.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s flagship, 'Innuyir Kappom Scheme' has been implemented across 67 hospitals, 16 Government and 51 private hospitals, in the city. Accident victims within Tamil Nadu borders shall benefit from the first 48-hour free treatment, through the scheme.
The TN Chief Minister, M K Stalin recently launched the Innuyir Kappom Scheme to help Government and private hospitals treat accident victims free of cost within the State for the first 48 hours. This scheme has been implemented across more than 600 hospitals in Tamil Nadu.
The Health Department has stated that all accidents within Tamil Nadu limits will be treated under this scheme. Dr. A Nirmala, Dean, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital said, "The Government of Tamil Nadu has introduced a 48-hour free treatment system for accident victims under the 'Innuyir Kappom Scheme.' The details of those admitted to the Intensive Care Unit will be immediately recorded and treatment procedures will be arranged accordingly. The scheme will be available in private hospitals as well. The Government will facilitate necessary funds for injuries such as head injuries and fractures. A maximum of Rs.1 lakh per person is allocated for free treatment under the scheme. Seven victims are currently undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital under this scheme.”
