Tirupur: The locals in Tirupur Pallakkattupudur Pirivu went on to block roads on Wednesday, demanding recovery of the 40-feet road after a private organization was given the approval to construct housing plots.
The Municipality handed over the 40-foot road to the residential area located in the Palakkattupudur division of Tirupur Corporation, third zone in 2006. Reportedly, a private company that purchased 10-acres of land in the forepart of the area has obtained land registration approval for the construction of a house plot.

The public demanded that the corporation officials restore the 40-feet road that is under the bounds of the purchased 10- acres of land as it has now been divided into plots. This has made it impossible to provide facilities including rainwater drains and water.
The protesting public dispersed after police and corporation officials went to the spot and assured them that the related documents would be verified and action would be taken.
