MLA Pollachi Jayaraman has been booked under 5 sections at Kinathukadavu police station. A festival to thank the deity and Pongal offerings was made at the Kothavadi Lake in Kinathukadavu near Pollachi as the lake filled after 30 years.
A clash broke out between AIADMK and DMK during the event and the MLA Pollachi Jayaraman was attacked by throwing sandals. Oppositions were raised against Pollachi Jayaraman's visit to the function there.
The Village Administrative Officer of Kurunallipalayam lodged a complaint with the Kinathukadavu police station to take action against the incident. Based on the complaint, 25 persons including Pollachi Jayaraman, Kothavadi AIADMK Branch Secretary Vinayagamurthy, and Union Secretary Pappu (a) Thirunavukarasu have been booked.
Cases under 5 sections such as crowding in violation of corona restrictions, preventing government employees from working to disrupt law and order, and performing without obtaining permission from the police are registered.
