Two women from Coimbatore are being interrogated based on the complaint of a corporation worker for allegedly pouring filthy water and slandering corporation sanitary workers using caste names.

Nithya (27), wife of Shivraj of Puliyakulam, works as a contract worker in Coimbatore Corporation’s central zone and is also engaged in the prevention of dengue activities.
Nithya who was on duty at the 80 ft Road in Ramanathapuram was slandered by Rajeswari, a medical shop owner in the area. Reportedly, Nithya who was on dengue prevention inspection in the area came across a water container with mosquito larvae in it and directed Rajeswari to clear off the stagnant water as it might lead to infections. Nithya also warned Rajeswari that such activities will result in a fine, after which Rajeswari along with her mother Sridevi rebuked Nithya.
Nithya cleared off the filthy water herself but enraged, Rajeshwari and Sridevi took the water from the other bucket and dumped it on the corporation employee Udaya Krishnan. Moreover, Nithya and Udaya Krishnan were slandered by the ladies using their caste names.
Nithya lodged a complaint with the Ramanathapuram police station. On receiving the complaint, the police have registered a case against Rajeshwari and her mother Sridevi for alleged atrocious behavior and are being interrogated.
