Tirupur Police have seized 350-kg of ganja smuggled from Andhra Pradesh to Tirupur and arrested the driver.
Tirupur: Police led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar seized 15-kg of ganja from the border area of the north police station on the 29th of last month and interrogated the suspects.
Based on the information received today, a car carrying ganja from Andhra Pradesh was found in the Kongu Main Road area during vehicle inspection by the police. It was revealed that a consignment of 350-kg of ganja was transported in the car.
Police arrested Palpandi, who was driving the car and he informed that the consignment was brought for sale from Andhra Pradesh. It was also revealed that the banned substance was going to be distributed to Tirupur and Theni districts from here. Following this, the police seized 350-kg of ganja and are conducting further investigations.
